Construction Youth Trust – Supporting the Next Generation of Plumbers

At First Choice Drainage, we’re committed to supporting the next generation of skilled tradespeople entering the industry.

We recently worked alongside Construction Youth Trust at Westminster College, attending the college on two separate occasions to speak with students currently studying plumbing. These sessions gave us the opportunity to share real-world insight into what a career in plumbing looks like, from entry-level roles through to long-term progression within the industry.

During our visits, we spent time answering students’ questions, reviewing CVs, and offering practical advice on how to prepare for the next steps in their careers. We also shared guidance on employability, workplace expectations, and the skills and attitude employers look for when recruiting apprentices and junior engineers.

It was encouraging to meet so many motivated students and to be able to support them as they prepare to enter the world of work. We’re pleased to play a role in helping young people build confidence and take positive steps towards a career in plumbing and the wider construction industry.
